Commonwealth Club Presents: Traditional Chinese Medicine Today

Listen to the Lecture: Old Solutions for New Problems: The Relevance of Traditional Chinese Medicine Today

John Nieters, Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine; Certified in Integrated Diabetes Care, Xin Hua Hospital

As the oldest professional integrated medicine in the world, traditional Chinese medicine has been recognized by the World Health Organization as the number-one treatment for stroke recovery and for many orthopedic pain syndromes. Acupuncture is considered evidence-based medicine and is recognized by nationwide organizations. Nieters will give a view of “a day in the life” at a Chinese Integrated Diabetes clinic and at a gynecology clinic, and make the case for the benefits of integrating this system into the mainstream medical care.
