Course Overview:

Regional anatomy review, orthopedic assessment and acupuncture treatment of the adductors and hip flexor muscles.

Treatment of the adductors and hip flexor muscles can be an important component athletic performance.

In this class students will learn the relevant anatomical structures, common injuries, assessment techniques, including orthopedic testing, resisted range of motion, active range of motion, passive range of motion and palpation.

This course includes practice of the assessment and acupuncture techniques, using anatomically significant points including traditional points, trigger points and motor points.

Acupuncture Sports Medicine Review: Anatomically Significant Points

This 2-day course is open to all licensed acupuncturists that have completed The Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship Program.  The purpose of this course is primarily to review the location, palpation, and needling of common sites of injury and dysfunction.

Secondarily, we will review orthopedic testing and assessment. These are the conditions that are most frequently seen in the acupuncture clinic.
